FaMiLy uPdAtE FaLl 2o09.

My dad just landed a new job up on hill air force base. It is a great job and it happened to all finalize the same month his severance was going to be ending. We are so blessed. I’m so Grateful both of my parents are willing to do whatever they need to do to provide for my family. I hope I can one day become like them. That’s exactly why I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to go to college so I can prepare to succeed in life and in the real world.

My mom is doing awesome. She had a really hard time letting me move away. She is now getting ready to start a new school year. She just got called to be the primary president. At first she was scared out of her mind and didn’t know if she could do it but after my family fasted for her she has gone forth and really changed the primary program around. My mom is so great, I miss here so much. Like people always say you never really know all that you have until it’s gone. I totally agree. Prior to college my mom did everything for me. I know she is not gone but 4 hours away. ha ha I have had to rely on her to rescue me on my first trip to the store and my first wash of laundry and not to mention many other times.

Brock is starting high school. He just turned 16 on Aug. 10th 2009. You know and two more cool facts about him, He is running cross country for Bonneville, He is the littlest one on the team, he weighs 105 pounds and he is crazy skinny. (And that’s after he drinks a protein shake every morning and night, if only I had that problem ha ha) Although he is little he had done really well running. He has placed top 5 against all of the Bonneville players at all his meets.

Tymbre is already going to be a 6th grader wow huh.. They are growing up so fast! She is 11 and in babysitting classes right now. She has this little crush on a boy that is in her primary class. She is getting really pretty, It’s a good thing she has an older brother to watch out for her!

Targee is just starting football for the Washington terrace Titians. He watches remember the titans more often than ever cause he wants to grow up to be a titian like them. He loves his team and he loves the sport. He tries telling my mom he has to play madden on x box just so he can learn the rules better and Learn the plays. He is just as wild and crazy as ever. But with football practice every day he is drained after practice and goes right to bed. My mom also said football was a miracle. It has helped to keep control of him ha ha. Oddly enough I think I miss him the most. It feels weird that I never have to keep my eyes on him. (he is also the tiniest one on his football team. With his helmet on he is lucky to reach the other kids shoulder pads.)

As for me...

Saturday the 8th of August I moved into my new appt in cedar city. I was kind of crazy at first I can’t believe I moved out. It was really scary but I’m slowly getting used It. When my parents left I thought it was basically the worst day of my life but I’m trying to have a better attitude and hopefully I will enjoy it more if I do.

August 12th, 2009 - College is so great I love it. But at the same time I sure miss being home. It’s a totally different environment here at school. I love meeting new people and everyday more and more people move in so it’s not just the dance team and the football team.

Aug. 22nd, 2009n - Today was my first performance as a SUU waukeenyans. It is so fun to dance for thousands of people in the crowd. As a kid I always dreamed this day would come. While dancing I realized I was finally here. I had made my dreams come true. It was an exciting day for me.

September 13th, 2009 - For my Scholarship I was required to join the Service learning club at SUU. So far we have done so many fun service projects. We made baked goods for a bake sale, adopted a grandparent, had a car wash, a breast cancer awareness day, and I even teach swimming lessons to kids under the age of 5 three hours a week. I never before realized what a love I have for service. There is so much bad in the world I never thought of how much good there is as well or even how much we can make a difference and help others.

My Service leader asked if I would be willing to give up the first week of my winter break to go to Mexico on a service mission. I was so excited I think that will be such an awesome experience. I can’t even wait! Especially right before Christmas it will get me in the habit of thinking of others and not just focusing on me or the Christmas season.

October 10, 2009 - All is pretty good here. I'm just really lonely. I can’t imagine how hard serving a mission would be. I Love Being on the Dance team! It's been a lot of fun! I love the rush I get when I'm dancing in front of thousands of people. The dance team is really different then what I’m used to though, we cheer a lot unlike lakettes and we also go to all the games so it keeps me busy. The team is only 12 girls so it seems tiny compared to 26. I'm just kind of discouraged with how filthy the environment is here! The girls here sure do know how to have fun but it’s been a big change because almost all of them are LDS but none of them really live the gospel like the lakettes. I know I wouldn't be struggling so much if I would just have a better attitude so I'm working on that. The other day I was cheering/dancing at a game and all these cute little girls came running up to me and I had this bright idea. I don’t have to be of the world just because I am in the world. I then started thinking about the impact my example can make on others on my team, and for those sweet little girls I met that day.

The other day I was praying for a Way to meet some new people with my same values. I never realized how much of an influence your friends make on you until now. I know the girls I’m friends with here so far will not lead me to good things to help me improve myself. It has been really hard moving away and living here but I’m sure there are good people with high values here too! I honestly haven't really met my ward to well yet because I have busy with dance on the activity days and Sundays are kind of hard to be social. I guess that could be my problem. I will have to work on putting myself out there to meet new people. I am in Institute every day of the week! I love it! I’m learning so much about the gospel it’s remarkable! :D

Last month was amazing I saw so many miracles. Long story short but my dorm I was living in got inspected and they found a some type of fungus in the wall so I had to move at the beginning of the month. I was all annoyed at first but from the minute I walked in to my new hall the girls were exactly opposite as the downstairs floor. They were friendly, nice, outgoing, and basically just like me. I know that the lord was watching out for me and he answered my prayer that day. My new roommate is Teisa and she is from Hawaii. We get along really well!.
